Volunteer Opportunities
Feline Friends is 100% Volunteer-run.
Volunteer-run means that we have no paid staff. Put your spare time to work helping cats! Please email info@felinefriends.ca if you are interested in any of these volunteer positions.

All volunteers require computer literacy for the purposes of record keeping / sharing, communication and attending online meetings where necessary.

Requirements: fosters need a space in their home that is warm, safe and separate from his or her own pets
Term: ongoing
Volunteers need to have time to care for and socialize foster cat(s)
Homes are needed for every age and situation, from tiny orphaned kittens needing bottle feeding to older cats needing to de-stress or recover from illness
All food, litter and medical care is provided, along with appropriate training and ongoing support.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a means of controlling the population of feral or barn cats. Cats are trapped, spayed or neutered and returned to their caregiver, who will provide food and shelter for the rest of their lives.
Qualifications: volunteer needs to possess good organizational skills, have a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
Term: ongoing
Responding to people requesting help, and meet with barn owners to discuss a plan
Preparation & trapping
Transporting the cats to and from the vet (clinics may be in Stratford, Kitchener or London)
After-surgery care for cats – ensuring that barn owners overnight the cats in a warm space after surgery, and that they know what to do if medical complications occur
